I'm a second-year medical student at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. I hold an M.S. in Medical Health Sciences from Touro and a B.S. in Health Sciences from California Northstate University. My coursework has covered biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and neuroscience, and I've done lab research on Parkinson's disease, so I can explain not just what the answer is but why it works.
I started teaching in 2016 as a classroom outreach assistant, helping run hands-on biotechnology labs for high school students. From 2018 to 2020 I was a biology teaching assistant at California Northstate University, leading review and study sessions for college students in General Biology. In 2023, I worked as a center assistant at Kumon, where I graded work and helped elementary and middle school students one-on-one in math and reading. Across those settings I've worked with students from about age 6 through college, in classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one.
My approach comes from both Kumon and medical school. First I find exactly where a student's understanding breaks down, then I build up from there in small steps until the material is automatic. I lean on the method I use myself for high-volume science courses: explain the mechanism first, connect new facts to what the student already knows, and use active recall and practice problems instead of rereading notes. I also try to keep sessions low-pressure. Most students who say they're "bad at science" or "bad at math" are missing one or two foundational pieces, and fixing those builds confidence fast. Whether you need help keeping up in a class, preparing for an exam, or building study habits that actually stick, I'll tailor each session to your goals and pace.
