I hold a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), a program known for producing top mathematicians, engineers, and scientists. Before college, I was a winner of multiple USSR math Olympiads and ranked among the top 50 math students nationwide in high school. This background gave me a deep understanding of mathematical thinking and a strong foundation for teaching advanced problem-solving skills.
I began my career teaching college-level mathematics and physics in Moscow, working with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. More recently, I volunteered as an after-hours math tutor at Castro Valley High School, helping students build confidence and improve their performance in challenging courses. While I have spent most of my professional life as a software engineer, I have always remained connected to education through tutoring, mentoring, and exam preparation.
My teaching method follows an intensive “bootcamp” approach. I focus first on mastering quick and accurate solutions to easy and medium problems, so students build speed, intuition, and momentum. With these fundamentals solid, they have the time and confidence to attack the hardest questions—the ones that truly determine top scores. I emphasize pattern recognition, structured practice, and a clear understanding of underlying concepts. I tutor general mathematics at multiple levels, with a strong focus on test preparation for the SAT, SAT Math Level 2, ACT, GMAT and GRE quantitative sections, as well as SSAT, ISEE, and SHSAT. My goal is to help every student reach their full potential through clarity, efficiency, and supportive guidance.
