Hello, my name is Nestor!

Nestor O.

I graduated from CSUN with a Bachelor's in Science in Computer engineering.

I have always loved math, and even more helping others with math; throughout my undergraduate journey I worked as a math tutor for the colleges that I attended. I absolutely loved being a tutor!

I have over 5 years of math tutoring experience. I worked at Los Angeles Mission College (2013-2015) tutoring all math levels from Algebra 1, all the way up to Calculus 3, and when I transferred to CSUN (2015-2018), I worked tutoring algebra 1 and 2.

I have extensive experience with both, working in a classroom setting, and working one-on-one with students. I have worked with students ages 6-18+.

My area of expertise is helping students understand some of the most challenging topics that are found in the beginning levels of math. The topics could be anything like adding/subtracting fractions or adding/subtracting decimals, factoring, solving equations, graphing functions, and of course the most dreaded topic, from my own experience, word problems!

I believe that what sets me apart from other tutors, is that I am passionate about teaching, and I am also patient and kind to my students; and because of my experience I am able to teach students topics they are having trouble with in different ways that they are able to easily understand.
