I have multiple professional references and have worked with multiple schools and child-based organizations in Montana and Oregon. I will do everything possible to enhance your child's academic skills and prepare them for the challenges of their current or next school year.

Positive Relationships! I greatly value the relationships I develop with my students, and I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment for each of them.

For me, tutoring is a great opportunity to provide students with the individual support they need. I place heavy emphasis on the child's own desires and motivations. I seek to be a partner and guide for my students. Learning is an incredible journey of discovery for a child, and I see it as my job to help each child along in their unique learning journey. I help children bring out the best in themselves by empowering them with choice and providing answers to their questions as they explore. My tutoring is always student directed. I am there to coach my students and provide them with the resources and support that will make them successful.

I currently hold a degree and license in early childhood and elementary education from Concordia University in Portland. Phonics

I have a 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education. Part of my coursework specifically addressed the instruction for reading fluency and phonics in early childhood. I have also studied the Montessori Method for teaching reading and writing to children of preschool and kindergarten age. I have direct, hands-on experience in applying this methodology in the classroom and from certified Montessori educators. I have seen firsthand its dramatic benefits to students.

I have a BA degree in education covering Pre-K through 8th Grade material in all subjects. I personally read and write extensively and have self-published a novel for young adult readers. I am passionate about not just helping students learn to read and write, but also inspiring their passion about these activities and helping them to see the value in mastering them.

I have direct experience working with students with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, and emotional disorders both inside and outside the classroom over a 4 year period. I have worked directly with special education teachers and behavior specialists in working with these children.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I hold a degree in elementary education. An integral part of this degree was developing and teaching effective study strategies. This included homework design, skills planning, and follow-up. During a year-long practicum I worked with classroom students providing, reviewing, and grading homework assignments and working with struggling students who consistently failed to do assignments or prepare for tests. There was also a segment of coursework specifically related to preparing students for tests and assessments.

Most Professional Patient Tutor

Jared has such a love of learning unlike anyone I have met. His love of learning is captivating to those around him. That has impressed me and engaged my 8 year old daughter with ADHD who he tutors. I was hopeless and in need of professional help. Jared gave me hope and I have seen my daughter respond to him and his style of teaching unlike anything I have ever witnessed. I was shocked and speechless. She couldn't wait to meet with him at the next session and that was very unexpected to her father and I. The key was Jared. He has what it takes to engage the student and make learning fun and enjoyable as well as make it interesting. Who wouldn't want to learn from a person who knows how to combine all the right ingredients and get the results needed? Jared is patient, kind, interesting, and his background is so impressive I can not say enough to do it justice in this review. He would have to do that himself. He truly has made a dedication to education and changed the lives of so many who come in contact with him. You can't meet him and not walk away a better person from the experience. If you need a tutor, look no further, you have found the right tutor right here! I don't usually give reviews, but I don't usually feel so strongly about a person and their service as I do Jared and his tutoring. I honestly can say I would stand behind Jared 100% that you would be as happy as I am.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

My son has been Jared for a couple years now. He's very patient and my son loves when its time to review upcoming lessons. My son seems to have a better understanding of the work the way Jared explains it and leaves their session feeling accomplished!

Getting off to great start

Just getting started with Jared B. but so far I'm very impressed with how professional and organized he is. My daughter is not the easiest to work with and he's already developed a rapport with her. This is not the first tutor she has but I feel this one will much different.

Jared is very organized and I like his technique in the way he teaches my son such as having reading materials in hand, having a erase board was very helpful for my son ...I'm all around very impressed. I knew right away I found a great tutor.

Great

If I am unable to take my child to tutoring my parents will. I receive an email from Jared telling me how he feels my child is doing and that's great for me.

Very Organized and Thorough, Highly Recommended

Jared has been working with my son to prepare for the ACT. He reviews each section and assesses what areas my son needs to work on. Based on his findings, he assigns work to do at home. These sessions have really helped my son. and I recommend Jared without hesitation. I like the lesson summaries Jared prepares after each session.

Great Tutor

Jared is doing a great job with my son. This past weekend, Jared viewed my son's recent report card to obtain a better understanding of my son's progress in school.

Very patient and knowledgable.

We hired Jared for our 10yr old son who is having trouble in math, writing. Jared is very professional, is willing to meet with you before you start any sessions. I liked him right away and loved how he has his own white board and other supplies. Very organized! We've had 2 sessions with him so far and my son just loves him. Jared makes my son's learning fun and very creative. He is patient, kind and truly cares about his work. Jared leaves us detailed reports after every session and talks to us about where our son is at. My son looks forward to having Jared every week.
