I have five years of experience tutoring high school and college students in biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, genetics, cell biology, immunology, hematology, and physiology in one-on-one and small-group settings. I also scored in the 96th percentile or higher on the Biology and Chemistry/Physics sections of the MCAT and have worked with students preparing for these subjects on the exam.

My tutoring experience has focused on supporting students with concept mastery, exam preparation, and problem-solving strategies, particularly in science courses that require strong critical thinking and data interpretation. My teaching approach emphasizes breaking down complex material into clear, intuitive explanations and tailoring sessions to each student’s learning style and academic goals.

I enjoy working with students at different stages, from those building foundational understanding to those refining test-taking strategies for major exams. My goal is to help students develop confidence, improve performance, and gain a deeper understanding of the material rather than relying on memorization alone.

I would be happy to work with you at any stage of your academic or MCAT journey!

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I completed a Molecular and Cellular Biology major with extensive upper-division coursework including cell biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, metabolism, animal physiology, hematology, and evolutionary biology. I earned a 99th percentile score on the Biology and Biochemistry section of the MCAT, reflecting a strong ability to integrate molecular mechanisms with physiological systems. I tutor high school and college students in biology with an emphasis on understanding core concepts, connecting structure to function, and applying knowledge to exam-style and MCAT-style questions.

Chemistry

Chemistry

I completed extensive college-level chemistry coursework as part of a Molecular and Cellular Biology degree, including general chemistry I-III with labs, organic chemistry I–III with labs, biochemistry, metabolism, and a chemistry of drugs and poisons course. I earned a 96th percentile score on the Chemistry and Physics section of the MCAT, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding across chemical and physical principles. I tutor high school and college students in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, with an emphasis on understanding mechanisms rather than memorization.
Genetics

Genetics

I completed college-level coursework in genetics as part of my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology. In addition to formal coursework, I worked in a molecular and cellular genetics research lab for four years studying Wnt and Fzd gene expression, which gave me hands-on experience with gene regulation, signaling pathways, and experimental data analysis. My background allows me to help students understand both foundational genetic concepts and how they are applied in real research and MCAT-style questions. I tutor high school and college students in genetics with an emphasis on clear explanations, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
MCAT

MCAT

I earned a 99th percentile score in the Biological and Biochemical Foundations section of the MCAT, a 96th percentile in Chemical and Physical Foundations, and a 93rd percentile in Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations. I am a Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate and incoming medical student with a strong foundation in MCAT-level biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and psychology. I focus on helping students build a deep conceptual understanding and apply that knowledge to passage-based and exam-style questions. I also enjoy mentoring premed students and can provide guidance on study strategies and exam preparation.
Microbiology

Microbiology

I completed upper-division coursework in microbiology, immunology, cell biology, and molecular biology as part of a Molecular and Cellular Biology degree. I was also a member of a biological research lab for four years, where I gained hands-on experience with experimental design, data analysis, and interpreting primary scientific literature. This research background allows me to help students connect microbiology concepts to real experimental contexts rather than treating them as isolated facts.
Psychology

Psychology

I completed college-level coursework in psychology, including general psychology and psychology of aging, and earned a 93rd percentile score on the Psychology and Sociology section of the MCAT. My background allows me to help students understand core psychological concepts such as learning, memory, development, cognition, and behavior, as well as how these topics appear in MCAT-style passages and questions. I tutor high school and college students in psychology with an emphasis on conceptual understanding, application, and critical thinking rather than memorization. My teaching approach focuses on clear explanations and helping students feel confident applying psychology concepts to exams and real-world scenarios.
