I am a credentialed mathematics teacher with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Cal State San Bernardino and a master's degree in Education from National University. I have worked in education for more than seven years as an independent studies teacher, math intervention specialist, and high school math teacher. I began tutoring as a paid tutor during my sophomore year of high school, and I’ve continued tutoring in different settings ever since.

I have worked in education for more than seven years as an independent studies teacher, math intervention specialist, and high school math teacher. I began tutoring as a paid tutor during my sophomore year of high school, and I’ve continued tutoring in different settings ever since.

My approach to tutoring is that getting the correct answer is only part of learning math. I want students to understand what a problem is asking, why a method works, and how to approach a similar problem on their own.

When a student is struggling, I break the problem into smaller parts and use questions to connect the new material to something they already understand. Sometimes a student needs a concept explained in a different way. Other times, the difficulty comes from an earlier skill that was never completely understood. My experience in math intervention has taught me to look for where that breakdown is instead of simply repeating the same explanation.

I also believe mistakes are an important part of learning. A wrong answer can show us what a student understands and what we should work on next.

I work primarily with Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, SAT Math, and related high school and college-level mathematics. I am also bilingual in Spanish and can provide tutoring in Spanish if desired.

My goal is not only to help students solve the problem in front of them, but to help them leave tutoring with a better understanding of the math and more confidence in their ability to approach the next problem.

I have worked with Algebra students both as a teacher and tutor. I focus on helping students understand what a problem is asking and why a method works, rather than only memorizing steps. When a student is struggling, I break the problem into smaller parts and help connect new material to skills they already understand.

I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and experience helping students with Algebra 2 concepts. I focus on the connections between equations, graphs, functions, and the procedures students are using. My goal is to help students understand the reasoning behind the math so they can approach similar problems more independently.

I work with students on building the foundational math skills they will continue using in later courses. I try to make problems more manageable by breaking them into smaller steps and explaining concepts in different ways when the first explanation does not connect.

I constantly use computers in my daily life, from managing my business as a tutor or looking up new technologies and products. My first semester as a computer science student I received A's in Computer Science 1, HTML (website language), Wordpress (content management website), and Computer Information Systems, and Game Design.

I help students work through Geometry by using diagrams, examples, and step-by-step reasoning. I focus on helping students understand why relationships and formulas work instead of treating Geometry as a collection of rules to memorize.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is where many of the skills needed for later mathematics come together. I help students strengthen those foundations while also introducing the reasoning they will need in Algebra. If a student is struggling, I try to identify whether the difficulty comes from the current topic or an earlier skill that needs more work.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus combines ideas from Algebra, Geometry, functions, and Trigonometry, so difficulties with a new topic can sometimes come from an earlier skill. I help students identify those connections and work through problems step by step while keeping the larger concept in view.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I help students identify the types of SAT Math questions that give them difficulty and review the mathematics behind those questions. I focus on building a reliable approach to solving problems so students are better prepared when a familiar concept is presented in an unfamiliar way.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I help students understand Trigonometry by connecting formulas and identities to the relationships they represent. I focus on helping students recognize when and why to use a particular method rather than simply memorizing formulas.
