Hello! I’m Gigi, a designer and educator with a strong background in both creative instruction and academic teaching. I hold an MFA in Fashion Design, along with additional degrees in Fashion Marketing and Visual Communications. I currently teach in the Apparel Merchandising and Management department at Cal Poly Pomona, where I guide college students through digital design, apparel fundamentals, and hands on creative projects. Teaching at the university level has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and support students as they build confidence in their technical and artistic skills.
Alongside my college teaching, I’ve worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students in one on one and small group settings. My experience includes enrichment programs, homework support, and foundational skill-building in core subjects. I adapt each lesson to the student’s age, learning style, and pace, using step by step demonstrations, guided practice, and positive reinforcement to help them stay engaged and understand the material. Whether I’m teaching Adobe Illustrator, fashion design concepts, or elementary subjects, my goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.
Across all grade levels, I focus on helping students grow with patience, structure, and encouragement. I’m easy to reach, responsive, and committed to helping each learner succeed — whether they’re mastering digital tools, strengthening academic fundamentals, or preparing for college-level coursework.
