Hi! I'm Alice and I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I have been tutoring for 7 years now and have extensive experience working with students across a wide range of ages and academic levels.
My tutoring background includes one-on-one instruction with elementary school students where I mentored students in phonics, reading, mathematics, and science. I've also facilitated group tutoring in the 4 core subjects as well. I have also provided individualized tutoring to junior high and high school students in science and math.
Throughout college, I designed curriculum and taught STEM-focused lessons in underserved elementary school classrooms, working with groups of up to 30 students at a time. These experiences allowed me to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs in both classroom and individualized settings. My approach to tutoring is tailored to each student; I take time to understand how they learn best and adjust my teaching strategies accordingly. When working with younger students, I tend to emphasize recitation, repetition, and hands-on learning to reinforce foundational skills and promote engagement. With older students, I find that active recall and practice problems are most beneficial to reinforcing topics. With my extensive experience, I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
