I am a currently credentialed but presently retired high school teacher with over 30 years experience teaching in the classroom. I have taught every Social Science subject but specialize in Economics and US Government. I have also taught AP Economics and Government, and I wrote the AP Microeconomics curriculum for my school district. My AP students have consistently scored at or above the national averages on AP exams, even though my school was officially designated by the state as having a generally underperforming student population.
While my main experience has been in the classroom, I have had a number of special tutoring sessions for both gifted students (related mostly to success on the AP exams) as well as my special education classified students who needed extra help with their studies.
I am a follower of Christ with 40 years experience in church ministry, Bible study activity, and apologetics training.
I have formally taught AP Microeconomics in the classroom and informally tutored AP Macroeconomics to students engaged in self-study.
I have formally taught AP US Government and Politics.
In my career I have served as GATE program coordinator, BTSA teacher mentor, Academic Decathlon coach, and have coached a number of athletic teams most notably tennis.
My professional achievements include earning a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in 2003.
