My name is Monica C, I have a Ph.D. in Psychology, a teaching credential from the California Department of Education, and have taught for over 20 years. I started teaching ESL as a substitute teacher for several adult schools in my area. Shortly after my first year, I was hired full-time by Chaffey Adult School to teach in a jail setting, teaching Anger Management and Substance Abuse. I taught at the Chaffey School District for 22 years. I taught at Mount Saint Mary’s College and Citrus Community College. I ran the veterans resource center for 8 years at Citrus College.
I have taught many different subjects and authored a college textbook for veterans. I mainly teach ESL and am currently mentoring a new CTA teacher. I served as the co-chair for the WASC committee for Chaffey as they went through accreditation about 6 years ago. The next year I volunteered as a WASC visiting committee member.
I hold a TESOL certificate and have taught ESL and English for over twenty years. I have countless hours of public speaking and have successfully prepared students for college. I have taught a college transitional course for disabled and struggling students for several years at a community college. I co-authored a book for a transitional course for veterans.
