Hi, I am a rising second year student at UC Irvine studying Applied and Computational Mathematics, planning a double major in Mechanical Engineering. My coursework in high school and university has included Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Physics, both Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism, giving me a strong foundation in the subjects I wish to tutor.
Over the past five years, I've tutored and mentored K-12 students in many subjects particularly math and science through MidPen Housing Corporation's after-school program in Union City, CA, working with students as young as 5 years old in both individual and group settings. I also provided peer tutoring in math and physics throughout high school at James Logan High School. In total I have 5+ years of experience working with students across a wide range of skill levels.
My approach for tutoring focuses on meeting students where they are using a one-size fits all method to approach problems they encounter. I find that breaking the problem into small and familiar concepts makes a big difference in overall comprehension, providing a foundation for more advanced topics they will experience in the future.
