My name is Lorena, and I am a college student with a strong passion for psychology and understanding human behavior. I have completed coursework in Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Social Psychology, which have given me a solid foundation in psychological theories, mental health concepts, and social behavior. I am especially drawn to psychology because of how easily it connects to real-life situations, and others often describe me as passionate and engaging when I talk about these topics.

I primarily tutor Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Social Psychology, and I work best with high school students and college students taking introductory-level courses. My tutoring style focuses on using real-life examples to make abstract concepts easier to understand, since many students learn best when they can see how ideas apply outside of a textbook. I also rely on methods that have personally helped me succeed, such as flashcards, repetition, being quizzed, and teaching material out loud. These strategies help reinforce understanding and build confidence over time.

I believe patience is essential when learning something new, and I strive to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I understand that everyone learns at a different pace, and I adjust my explanations accordingly. My goal is not only to help students perform better academically, but also to help them feel more confident in their ability to learn and understand psychology.
