I am a 3rd-year Honors Computer Science student at California State University, Stanislaus, where I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while completing advanced coursework in Data Structures & Algorithms, Assembly Language, Discrete Structures, and Calculus 1 & 2. Outside of the classroom, I worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Lockheed Martin, where I developed unit tests for embedded C++ software and resolved multiple errors that had remained unresolved for almost an entire year. Through this role and my personal projects, I have gained extensive hands-on experience with Linux and C++ concepts, including recursion, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, pointers, bit manipulation, templates, databases, and interface classes. I have also built projects in Python and Java, ranging from a Reverse Polish Notation Calculator in Java implemented with a stack and queue data structures to an Energy Access Analyzer System in Python that parses through a CSV file, integrating multiple classes with a search function implemented with a hash table.
These projects and experiences strengthened my technical skills and gave me opportunities to tutor peers and help them confidently understand complex concepts. Through tutoring, I found great satisfaction in supporting others and seeing their academic success and enthusiasm as a result. Tutoring is an opportunity for me to bring clarity to students who may be struggling and to spark the same love of learning that I have. My way of teaching is extremely engaging and patient. I typically start by explaining the real-world use of a concept and breaking it down into smaller steps, then reinforcing understanding with additional examples. I don’t simply want to tell students what to do; I want to teach them how to think critically through each problem and give them practice to ensure full comprehension. I believe students are increasingly losing their eagerness to learn due to heavy reliance on AI tools, and I strive to reignite the love and joy of learning in all of my students!
