A former student of the Berklee College of Music, Sean currently spends most of his time working out of his North Hollywood studio: Wolf Den Recording. Winchester’s present gig is playing regularly with Tijuana Dogs, a band based out of Orange County, but they often perform in the greater Los Angeles Area and has recently toured nationally.
Sean is a Paiste and DW Artist, as well as has a working relationship with Audient, Vanguard, and Lewitt, in which he has recorded promotional videos (featuring his musical compositions) for their equipment, as well as a published author on blogs regarding recording tools and techniques. In addition to teaching and performing, Sean Winchester is a session drummer, in partnership at other studios as well as his own. His recording setup makes it easy for him to send tracks and collaborate with other musicians all over the world and is available for recording high quality drum tracks in a variety of styles, as well as live performances.
I am someone who took up drumming in high school because I needed an outlet and somewhere to focus my energy. Music was a place for me that allowed my brain to be creative while still providing structure. I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, so through my craft, I have learned how to not only learn more about my neurodiveristy, but use it to my advantage in areas. I have had to develop my own creative applications for musical concepts, so I am used to thinking outside the box. Whether you have ADHD or not, I think that my ability to approach a concept in a variety of ways allows me to connect to my students' needs, wherever they are at.
