Hello future students. My name is Jonathan and I am a Music Education Teacher with a Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of the Pacific in California.

Although I teach a variety of instruments, I am currently only teaching guitar, ukulele, and voice. In addition to teaching the instruments, I also teach music theory and ear training. I have been teaching and performing music for a large part of my life, most currently teaching TK-5th general music at a local public school. I have sang and played at weddings, talent shows, in ensembles, bands, and as a solo artist performing at concerts of up to 80-100 people.

For years I have been giving private lessons at people's homes, in my home, and over FaceTime and/or Zoom. I also spent time at Delta College, where I received two degrees, an AA-T in Music and another AA in Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.

What I enjoy most about teaching is helping my students get excited about learning, and I also enjoy seeing them overcome challenges in their learning journey.

Caring and knowledgeable

Jonathan really listens and pays attention to what most captures a student's interest. He has been very flexible both with me (age 40) and my son (age 5). He can cover a wide range of topics; so far we have studied music theory, singing, guitar, piano, and cello. The lessons are always fun and informative. He has also helped me learn to play without pain despite my historic wrist problems, which is something I never thought I'd be able to do. I'm really grateful that we found Jonathan.

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and good personality

For me, personality matters and Jonathan has a good personality. He made a good first impression on my children. He keeps an age-appropriate attitude with kids, he is funny, enthusiastic, and has a good knowledge of music. He is also God-fearing too!.
