Bio

Hello!

I am an experienced elementary, junior high, high school, and college level tutor. I have been tutoring for over 14 years and I absolutely love it. I love seeing the reaction of students when they finally understand what they are learning, which also builds self confidence! Tutoring is one of the most fulfilling things I have done and would be delighted to help you or your child.

I am an experienced elementary, junior high, high school, and college level tutor. I have been tutoring for over 14 years and I absolutely love it. I attended UC San Diego for 4 years of college, and graduated at the top of my class in International Economics, with a minor in Communications and Latin American Studies. I also studied abroad in Brazil for one year, at the Pontifical University in Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). I studied Latin American Studies while I was there, and all of my courses were in Portuguese. So I can definitely help you learn Portuguese too! After I received my bachelors degree in 2008, I went on to pursue my Masters Degree in Education. I have not yet achieved it, but have a few more classes to complete.

I really love teaching, and really want students to learn. I can also give advice on college applications, and planning for your future.

Very happy

My son's not great in math and he was about to start falling behind...during the first week of school! Luckily we found Summer and he now understands the material they're covering now and will be able to keep pace with the class. We will be sure to meet with Summer again, very satisfied parent and student after only 1 session.

Summer is the best!

Summer is helping me with my college math course. She is so patient and never makes me feel stupid. She is very sweet and non-Judgemental. I have one more math class after this before I get my degree, and I will definitely use Summer.

My daughter is taking Algebra 2/trig and Summer has been a huge help. I highly recommend her, she does offer online tutoring but with my child I think she needed a one-on-one in-person atmosphere. I will definitely be calling Summer soon for another session.

Great for my teenage son

My son needed help with multiple subjects, and Summer has been a great help with math (ugh...common core!) and Spanish. The main reason we chose Summer is because of her knowledge of more than one subject. My sophomore son gets along well with her, and he feels she is clear in her explanations. She is quick to respond when we communicate via email and text, and her availability fit our schedule well. We highly recommend Summer!
