With 25 years of experience in special education and educational therapy, I provide specialized dyslexia & reading therapy to students in Torrance and the South Bay, as well as online. I incorporate multiple research-based programs and strategies to create a highly personalized approach, reaching students who have not yet found success despite previous interventions. I create engaging, enjoyable lessons that help them develop a positive connection with reading—often for the first time.
Students learn best when they feel safe and when their strengths are valued and part of the learning process. I focus on establishing rapport from Day 1 to ensure a strong therapist-student relationship. Within the first few weeks of lessons, they discover and learn all about their strengths, which builds confidence. I factor these strengths into their reading program so they may finally learn effectively.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education and spent seven years as a special education teacher in public schools. I maintain a current Education Specialist credential and have operated a private educational therapy practice for 18 years. My background includes extensive training and experience in the Wilson Reading System (Orton-Gillingham based), Lindamood-Bell reading programs, and a linguistic phonics model, alongside a deep foundation in the Science of Reading.
