Hi! My name is Michelle and I have been a teacher for students ranging in age from 4 to 22 for 15 years. A graduate of Harvard University and holding a doctorate in education from Loyola Marymount University, I've dedicated my life to helping students achieve their goals! A private school teacher and mom of 3 children (20, 17, and 11) I am very familiar with STEP, Project Based Learning, Common Core Math, and technology.
No matter what the need - I can help! A former inclusion specialist, I received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2009 for my region, and work really well with students who feel like school is hard and that they are behind. A reading specialist and literacy coach, I can support children who have various reasons why they are struggling; ADD, Autism, Dyslexia, ELL, to name some challenges.
I work part-time in the School of Education at LMU with graduate students, so I am also adept at improving students' mastery of writing papers (MLA and APA) for their college classes. My goal is to make students love school as much as I do :)
