Methodical, patient, and compassionate
Grace, 6 lessons with MelanieMelanie is great. She is patient, methodical, and has a undisguisable passion for linguistics. She is meticulous in discerning the slightest nuances in pronunciation and practice with me until I get it. She packs three or four different approaches in each lesson - vocabulary, dialog, grammar, etc - the brain gets the needed exercise for learning a new language effectively. I feel fortunate to have found her!
I began a lifelong passion of learning foreign languages at the age of 7, and after studying both French and Spanish for 11 years I undertook a BA in Modern Arabic Studies with a Spanish minor. I traveled to Cairo, Egypt where I received a certificate to teach English as a Foreign Language and completed a year of teaching English in a private school in Cairo.
Upon discovering the rewards and a passion for teaching, I then pursued a 2 year Post Graduate Certificate to teach French to 11-18...

Very patient and sweet tutor
Melanie has been with us for about a month, and my neice’s Spanish grades have already greatly improved. She’s getting test scores in the high 90 percentile. Melanie is very sweet, relaxed and patient as s tutor- so far, a really great experience.

Melanie worked with my brother and me on vocabulary and pronunciation. She asked us questions in French, and we responded in kind. Whenever we got stuck on something, she gave us great explanations and allowed us to practice the subject. We look forward to continuing our weekly French lessons with her.

I am leaning far more with Melanie's assistance then I could ever on my own. I am in college-level French with little previous experience with the language. The curriculum is dense and fast-paced and Melanie's help has been crucial. Two thumbs up!
