Bio

I graduated from UCLA with honors in Economics while completing the premedical science curriculum, earning a 3.86 science GPA. I scored a 1530 on the SAT and a 518 on the MCAT, including a perfect 132 in the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section. I earned my MCAT score before completing all of the traditional premedical prerequisite coursework, which required me to teach myself unfamiliar material and develop efficient ways to learn, retain, and apply new concepts. My background spans biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, economics, and reading comprehension, and I enjoy helping students develop both subject knowledge and stronger problem-solving skills.

My most extensive teaching experience comes from serving as a Biology Learning Assistant at UCLA for three academic quarters in the Life Sciences 7B and 7C sequence. I worked directly with undergraduate students in the classroom, guiding them through problems in genetics, evolution, ecology, and physiology. Instead of simply giving students an answer, I try to identify where their reasoning begins to go off track and ask questions that help them reach the solution themselves. I have also worked extensively with younger students through educational and mentoring programs, which taught me to adjust my explanations to different ages, learning styles, and levels of confidence.

My goal is for students to understand the reasoning behind what they are learning well enough to eventually solve problems independently. I am patient and happy to explain the same idea several different ways until it clicks. Whether a student is working through a difficult class, preparing for the SAT or MCAT, or trying to become a more confident reader and problem solver, I tailor each session to the individual student.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I earned a perfect score on the SAT Math section and graduated with honors in Economics from UCLA, where I completed extensive quantitative coursework. My background includes algebra, calculus, statistics, and economics, and I have experience teaching UCLA undergraduates as a Biology Learning Assistant. I help Algebra 1 students build a strong foundation in equations, inequalities, functions, graphing, exponents, factoring, and word problems while explaining the reasoning behind each step. My goal is to make algebra feel systematic and approachable so students can solve problems more confidently on their own.
Biology

Biology

I served as a Biology Learning Assistant at UCLA for three academic quarters in the Life Sciences 7B and 7C sequence, helping undergraduate students understand topics including genetics, evolution, ecology, and physiology. I also conducted more than 600 hours of genetics and epigenetics research in UCLA’s Jacobsen Lab, where I developed hands-on experience with molecular biology and contributed to a scientific manuscript. My teaching approach focuses on breaking complex biological processes into clear, connected ideas and helping students reason through questions instead of simply memorizing facts. I can support students in high school and college biology, genetics, cell biology, physiology, and related coursework.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I graduated from UCLA with honors in Economics and completed extensive coursework in macroeconomics and related quantitative subjects. I have also taken and passed 10/10 AP Tests. My dad is also an Economics Professor so if we get stuck I can always refer to him!
MCAT

MCAT

I scored a 518 on the MCAT, including a perfect 132 in the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section, while still completing portions of my premedical prerequisite coursework. Preparing for the exam required me to independently learn content, identify weaknesses, and develop efficient strategies for retaining and applying a large volume of material. As a UCLA Biology Learning Assistant, I also gained extensive experience helping students work through difficult scientific concepts by identifying gaps in their reasoning rather than simply giving them answers. I can help students with MCAT content review, passage-based reasoning, CARS strategy, study planning, and developing an approach tailored to their individual strengths and weaknesses.
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

I graduated from UCLA with honors in Economics and completed extensive coursework in microeconomics and quantitative economics. I can help students with supply and demand, elasticity, consumer and producer theory, market structures, externalities, labor markets, and cost analysis. My teaching approach emphasizes understanding the logic behind economic models and then applying that reasoning to graphs, calculations, homework, and exams. I can support both high school and college-level microeconomics students.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I earned a perfect score on the SAT Math section and a 1530 overall SAT score, and I graduated with honors in Economics from UCLA. My academic background includes extensive coursework in algebra, calculus, statistics, and quantitative analysis, along with experience teaching UCLA undergraduates as a Biology Learning Assistant. I focus on helping students recognize common SAT problem types, choose efficient solution strategies, and understand the reasoning behind each answer rather than relying on memorized tricks. I also tailor sessions to each student’s weaknesses so we can improve both accuracy and speed under timed conditions.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I scored a 1530 on the SAT and later earned a perfect 132 on the MCAT Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section, which tests many of the same core skills in close reading, inference, tone, and evidence-based reasoning. My experience as a UCLA Biology Learning Assistant also taught me how to guide students through difficult material by identifying where their reasoning breaks down and helping them build a clearer approach. For SAT Reading, I focus on passage structure, main ideas, inference questions, vocabulary in context, and eliminating answer choices that are unsupported or overly broad. My goal is to help students read more efficiently while making their answers more precise and evidence-based.
SAT Writing

SAT Writing

I scored a 1530 on the SAT and have extensive experience with academic writing, editing, and standardized-test reasoning through my coursework at UCLA. As a UCLA Biology Learning Assistant, I regularly helped students communicate complex ideas clearly and identify errors in their reasoning, skills that translate directly to SAT Writing and Language. I teach students how to recognize grammar and punctuation rules, improve sentence structure, evaluate transitions, and answer questions about organization, concision, and rhetorical purpose. My approach emphasizes understanding the rule or logic behind each question so students can apply the same reasoning quickly and confidently on test day.
