Hello!
I consider myself an enthusiasm enthusiast above all else, and that's how I approach tutoring. No matter what you bring to work on, I know I can find something to get excited about; I'll do my best to make sure you feel passionate about your work too.
I'm a UCLA graduate with five years of tutoring experience. Currently, I'm working as a legal assistant in a law office and studying to take the LSAT in October. I've studied literature in Prague and in London, interned as a screenplay reader, and run Shakespeare clinics for the UCLA Shakespeare club. I also have certificates in playwriting and advanced legal research and writing.
I volunteered as a peer tutor in high school, and started tutoring professionally as a sophomore in college. I worked for the official college Writing Center, tutoring my fellow students in literary analysis, essay writing, and exam prep. I worked one-on-one with students, visited classrooms during finals season, and even worked with a few students outside of school.
I attended community college before UCLA, and firmly believe in making learning accessible. I don't have one tutoring philosophy; my goal is to discover how you learn and help you, specifically, understand the material. I've worked with college students at all levels, from people who were skilled writers who only showed up to tutoring because the professor required it, to people desperately uncomfortable with written language, to anyone in between. I've tutored people with a variety of learning disabilities, including members of my own family. I have helped people raise over two letter grades and have been personally recommended by professors.
Primarily, I'm here to detangle your thoughts, listen to what's preventing you from feeling confident in your work, and help you accomplish your goals. Every writer is unique and no one knows your perspective, and your work, better than you do.
I'm so excited to get to know you. Let's work together!
