American History

Understanding the twists and turns of our nation's founding through to it's present-day complexities is a fascinating journey. And that's exactly how I approached tutoring in this area.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Diagnosed with mild/moderate autism, my twin's boys are now 26 and our family is enjoying life. My husband and I have learned how to teach our children through listening to other parents, teachers, aides, workshop leaders, and coaches; and I combine that knowledge with professional teaching experience.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I work with each student to take the “fear” out of math and break down difficulties into smaller components. We do more than complete homework, the students will learn how to strengthen their abilities to work both independently and interdependently.

Phonics

As a trained actor/director in the Theatre, we are extensively trained to use the sounds found in language. It has been a very successful tool to use my theatre training to make studying phonics accessible and fun for children and adults.

With patient objective observation of political systems, it is possible to learn and analyze systems regardless of personal ideology. That is the key to understanding this material.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I enjoy coaching those entering the public speaking arena. I like to clarify and illuminate some key techniques to assist my clients in sharing their ideas in both informative and persuasive speeches. Through my experience teaching in the American Theatre for over twenty years I've helped many business, science, and others students from diverse backgrounds develop and improve their ability to speak and engage in public.
Reading

Reading

I enjoy unlocking the possibilities of young minds: reading is suppose to be fun not a chore. It is my goal that my students discover that this is indeed very true. As a child in Sunday School, as a classroom helper in Elementary, Middle School and High School, and finally as a Theatre director helping actors to decipher their scripts—I’ve had the privilege of working to unlock, the at times, hidden secrets of understanding what you read.

Phonics and Vocabulary are part of the equation in teaching a student to spell.

Best Tutor

My son and daughter started their lesson with Elizabeth since February this year. In 2 months I saw significant improvement on their English speaking, math, and acting. Elizabeth found their problems and improved them. My kids both got very good feedback from their teachers on their report cards. I am so glad to find Elizabeth as our tutor and plan to use her long term as long as she willing to teach my kids. I also referred my friend's kids to her because I thought she is the best tutor!

The minute my child met with Elizabeth he was very interactive, something he doesn't usually do unless he likes you. This is our 1st lesson and my son is looking forward to his second lesson with Elizabeth.

Patient and knows how to speak to kids

So we learned how our kids learn. Our kids are visual learners and just need to make that adjustment when teaching them. Looking forward to seeing our kids grow from this and excel at math now. Thank you for opening up our eyes.
