I am a credentialed educator currently teaching Kindergarten in Arcadia Unified School District with 8 years of experience teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade. I hold a Master’s in Education from University of California, Riverside and have completed LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training, a professional development program grounded in the Science of Reading. I also have experience with IB curriculum development and professional training.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong foundational literacy and math skills through engaging, explicit, and confidence-building instruction. I use research-based strategies aligned with the Science of Reading, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension instruction. I also incorporate hands-on learning, educational games, and individualized support to help students stay motivated and successful.
I have experience teaching students in both whole-classroom and small-group settings, as well as one-on-one support. I primarily work with early elementary students, especially in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and have experience supporting a wide range of learners with different academic and social-emotional needs. My goal is to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow in confidence.
