I have been teaching art and creative journaling both online and in person since 1993. I LOVE to learn and this comes through in my teaching style. As a professional artist for the past 23 years I am 100% dedicated to sharing the joys and the discipline of art-making in a very real and inspiring way. I realize how much passion and dedication go into creating and how rewarding it is to make time for creativity in one's life. It enhances everything as well as stimulating the brain in new and challenging ways!
My goal for each session involves creative brainstorming along with actively creating in a variety of mediums such as pastel, colored pencil, crayon, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pen and ink and more. Exploration is encouraged along with inspirational, critical and always encouraging feedback. My students are inspired to always be learning, creating and building upon their skills. This teaches them invaluable lessons that can enhance all areas of life. Each lesson comes with suggested homework, ongoing evaluation and progress reports as well as suggested reading and viewing of art and artists both online and in person.
My teaching background involves assistant teaching for Laguna Outreach Community Artists, weekly painting classes for all ages at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Art Festival, private classes at my home, painting demos on HGTV, painting, journaling and collage classes at Mt San Jacinto College and Inspire San Diego Studio and at several shops and yoga studios in Temecula and surrounding areas. I have also taught creativity classes online since 2010. For those interested in learning how to promote and sell their work online I have experience selling my art and blogging online since 2000 via Squarespace, WordPress.org, Blogger, Etsy and Storenvy.
I am available pretty much every day from 9am-9pm and can meet with students in person and online.
