With a Master’s in Education and over 45 graduate units in mathematics and education, I’ve dedicated the past two years to teaching Integrated Math II, Math II Honors, Integrated Math III, and Personal Finance at San Jacinto High School. There, I guide 10th-12th graders through algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, and precalculus, making complex topics like quadratics accessible. My classroom, equipped with a TruTouch TV and iPad, thrives on interactive lessons that blend direct instruction with collaborative problem-solving, fostering curiosity and confidence. Whether helping a 15-year-old master factoring or preparing a student for SAT math, I adapt to each learner’s needs, drawing on my experience with diverse classes of 20-30 teens.

My tutoring journey began as an undergraduate, supporting peers in math, and continued as a graduate student teaching college-level statistics. These experiences honed my ability to listen and adapt, whether using real-world examples like budgeting for coffee runs to explain linear equations or visual aids for geometry proofs. I bring 15 years of STEM expertise from roles as a statistician, software engineer, and data scientist at the Census Bureau and tech firms, enriching my lessons with practical applications. Equity is central to my approach, ensuring every student feels valued, and my Personal Finance course inspires financial literacy. As a Wyzant tutor, I aim to spark aha moments with clear, patient guidance, bringing the same warmth I share over wonton soup at my local haunt.
