I attended the University of California, San Diego as an undergraduate where I obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in biochemistry and cell biology. I decided to pursue medical school and training in Chicago and dedicate my life to aiding others in their time of need. During residency, I was a chief resident and gained more experience in teaching and helping others through medical school and matching residency. I’ve since graduated and am working as an internal medicine physician.

I was a graduate teaching assistant for one year where I taught an undergraduate laboratory course consisting of 30 students techniques in recombinant DNA technology as well as microbiology. I have assisted in teaching undergraduate college courses like general biology, microbiology, genetics, and recombinant DNA techniques.

As a medical doctor, I am always studying and learning new things about the human body every day! Teaching is one of my passions and I would love to help you with your studies.

Anatomy

Anatomy

As an internal medicine physician, I have an in-depth understanding of human anatomy that combines academic knowledge with clinical practice. My medical training and residency provided extensive exposure to the structure and function of the human body, which I integrate into my teaching to make anatomy both accessible and practical. I focus on helping students learn through visual aids, mnemonics, and clinical correlations, ensuring a thorough grasp of key anatomical concepts. Whether you need assistance with gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, or anatomical systems, I am here to guide you through the subject.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

With a bachelor's and master's degree in biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Diego, I bring a deep understanding of the intricate chemical processes that govern life. My experience as a graduate teaching assistant allowed me to guide students in mastering topics such as enzyme kinetics, metabolic pathways, and molecular biology techniques like recombinant DNA technology. During medical school and residency, I applied these principles to clinical contexts, enhancing my ability to teach biochemistry with real-world relevance. I specialize in helping students break down complex biochemical concepts and connect them to their broader applications in medicine and biology.
Biology

Biology

Having earned advanced degrees in biology-related fields and taught college-level courses such as general biology, microbiology, and genetics, I provide students with a comprehensive approach to mastering biology. My teaching experience includes laboratory instruction and one-on-one mentoring, where I focus on topics like cellular function, molecular biology, and organismal systems. As a medical professional, I integrate clinical insights into my teaching, helping students understand the practical applications of biological principles. My goal is to make biology accessible and engaging while preparing students for academic and professional success.
Chemistry

Chemistry

My background in biochemistry and cell biology has given me a strong foundation in chemistry, which I applied extensively throughout my academic and medical training. As a tutor, I help students master challenging concepts in general and organic chemistry, including reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, and acid-base chemistry. My teaching emphasizes problem-solving strategies and conceptual understanding, enabling students to excel in both coursework and standardized exams. I bring years of experience helping students connect theoretical chemistry to practical applications in biology and medicine.
Genetics

Genetics

With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in molecular biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Diego, I bring extensive expertise in genetics and molecular biology. As a graduate teaching assistant, I instructed an upper-division molecular biology laboratory course, guiding 30 students through advanced techniques in recombinant DNA technology and microbiology. My hands-on teaching experience included helping students understand key genetic concepts such as DNA replication, gene expression, and genetic engineering. Now, as a practicing physician, I continue to build on this foundation, integrating my deep academic training with practical applications of genetics in medicine, ensuring I can help you master this critical subject.
MCAT

MCAT

I have taken the MCAT and was able to obtain multiple acceptances to medical school. I scored above 95th percentile and obtained high scores in biology, chemistry and psychology. My TA experience has put me in a position where I am able to teach these concepts at a pristine level.
Microbiology

Microbiology

With advanced degrees in biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Diego and experience as a graduate teaching assistant, I have a comprehensive understanding of microbiology. I have taught undergraduate courses covering microbial physiology, genetics, and laboratory techniques, including recombinant DNA technology. My medical training further deepened my expertise in clinical microbiology, focusing on infectious diseases, pathogens, and antibiotic resistance. I specialize in helping students master microbial concepts, from the structure and function of microorganisms to their role in human health, preparing them for success in both academic and professional settings.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

With a strong foundation in biochemistry and cell biology from my undergraduate and graduate education at UC San Diego, as well as my medical training and current role as an internal medicine physician, I bring extensive expertise to the subject of pharmacology. I have hands-on experience teaching complex topics, including drug mechanisms, therapeutic applications, and pharmacokinetics, to both undergraduate and medical students. During my residency, I served as a chief resident, where I gained valuable experience mentoring and teaching students and peers in clinical pharmacology and medication management. My approach focuses on breaking down difficult concepts, connecting them to real-world clinical scenarios, and providing tailored guidance to help students master this critical subject. Extremely smart and excellent teacher

Sean helped me with cardiac physiology and explained the concepts in a new way that made these concepts easier for me to understand. He is a wonderful teacher and exceptionally well knowledged in medicine and biology. He encouraged me to ask questions and even drew diagrams and figures on his iPad which was very helpful. He sent me everything he had prepared on his own time after the lesson and I was able to use it to study for my exam. I couldn't ask for anything more from a tutor.

Super Knowledgeable and Friendly

We went over the nervous system which was very complicated to me Sean really took his time to break it down into a simple steps. He even used diagrams and mnemonics to help me. He also knew exactly what areas that I should focus on to be ready for my pop quiz. I highly recommend Sean to any one who really need help in Anatomy and Physiology.
