I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Cal Poly Humboldt, where I worked as a genetics tutor at the Cal Poly Humboldt Tutoring Center. I currently work in biomedical research with a focus on molecular biology, CRISPR editing, flow cytometry, genetics, cell biology, and cell culture. Working in a hands-on research environment has given me practical experience applying many of the concepts students encounter in biology courses, especially in genetics and molecular biology. Many biology courses present an ocean of information in a very short period of time without allowing enough space for concepts to connect intuitively.
One thing I genuinely enjoy is helping students reach the point where biology starts making sense instead of feeling like a wall of disconnected terms and pathways. Everyone is capable of understanding the material, but finding the right approach to avoid feeling overwhelmed by pacing, memorization pressure, or overly complicated explanations is part of the process. I try to explain concepts in a calmer and more practical way, so students can build confidence step by step rather than feeling lost or intimidated during sessions.
I am comfortable helping with biology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and related life science topics. Whether a student needs help reviewing for exams, understanding difficult concepts, or organizing how to approach a course, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and difficult concepts become easier to work through, one step at a time.
