Hello, I’m Ronin! I’m an undergraduate studying Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University. I’ve spent over two years tutoring high school and college-level math, and I’m currently expanding my work through Wyzant.
From working with clients and observing my peers, I’ve learned that most academic struggles don’t come from misunderstanding concepts, but failing to keep up with a class’s pace. Advanced STEM courses move quickly, and even smart students can fall behind simply because there isn’t enough time to fully grasp material before the next topic arrives. My tutoring style specifically ressolves this.
I use a priming-based learning approach: I intentionally build familiarity by emphasizing repeated exposure, pattern recognition, and structured guidance. The goal is not just to “understand” a concept in the moment just to forget it later, but to develop intuitive problem-solving skills that stay with you beyond the exam.
What also sets me apart is perspective. As a current student who has completed these courses fairly recently, I understand exactly how modern STEM classes are structured and how to navigate them effectively. I know what material actually gets tested and how questions are designed to mislead and divert students’ attention, and I provide mental frameworks, shortcuts, and problem-solving habits I’ve personally used to earn high As in college-level math classes and 5s on AP exams. These aren’t tricks, they’re methods for reducing cognitive load and preventing your brain from spiraling under pressure.
Many of my students also reach out between sessions when they get stuck, and I encourage this level of engagement because progress doesn’t only happen during sessions, it happens when students start approaching and thinking differently about problems on their own.
I'm so excited to offer my talents and expertise to a platform filled with thousands of dedicated students. If you want to learn upper-level math the right way, don't hesitate to reach out, I would love to work with you!
