Hello, my name is Shobhna. I am a freelance software engineer with a master’s degree from Santa Clara University, California, along with certifications in full-stack web development, machine learning, and agentic AI. I also have experience as a classroom support volunteer in both public and private school systems. Through this work, I recognized the importance of personalized instruction in helping students succeed, as every student has a unique learning style and pace. This understanding strongly shapes my tutoring approach, which focuses on building strong foundations, confidence, and long-term academic success.
I offer fully customized lessons that begin with a 30-minute free introductory consultation to understand each student’s academic background, learning style, and goals. Based on this session, I create structured lesson plans that emphasize clear explanations, practical application, and conceptual understanding. I design my own teaching materials, including visual presentations, to support different learning styles. My curriculum is regularly updated to align with current educational standards, emerging technologies, and best teaching practices, ensuring students receive relevant and effective instruction.
I have over four years of tutoring experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students. My subject areas include mathematics from elementary math through calculus, science lessons based on the NGSS curriculum with hands-on experiments, and computer science topics such as programming in Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, operating systems, and hardware projects using Arduino and Raspberry Pi. My lessons are interactive and engaging while keeping lessons appropriately challenging. My goal is to help students catch up, get ahead, or deepen their understanding. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a consultation.
