Hello, my name is Matthew! I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May 2025 with a BA in Physics and minors in computer science and Spanish. I have 3 years of experience tutoring undergraduate physics with the WashU Learning Center. As a physics tutor, I held weekly help sessions for introductory physics students. My approach to tutoring is to get my students as excited about physics as I am! Rather than simply telling students how to get the right answer, I try my best to help them understand the underlying concepts. A strong conceptual understanding gives students the tools to solve a wide range of problems, not just the ones they have seen before. I believe this approach also leads to a deeper appreciation for physics and makes the learning process fun! Instead of rote memorization, my students come away with an understanding of the why.
I am able to tutor physics up to the undergraduate level, whether it be for help getting through a course, studying for an exam, or completing a homework assignment.
