I have 3+ years of experience working as a student researcher in a neuroscience lab. This, along with the several intensive courses I have taken in biology, chemistry, microbiology and biochemistry, makes me confident in my ability to break down complex concepts for my students at any level.
Additionally, I have always been passionate about English. Along with taking several writing-intensive research courses, I have earned a 5 in both AP Literature and AP English Language exams. I help students build strong literary analysis skills and teach them how to identify themes, analyze symbolism and support their interpretations with textual evidence. Writing is one of the most powerful tools we have to convey our voices and I think it is essential that everyone have the tools they need to be able to convey their unique perspective.
I tailor my tutoring approach for each person. I incorporate any materials my students are using in class to ensure that I am teaching while keeping their specific goals and make customized slideshows for their specific needs.
