Hi! I have been tutoring standardized test prep since 2018 and I'm happy to help you! I mostly focus on the English/Reading/Writing/Verbal sections of standardized tests.

Relevant background: I got a perfect score on the English/reading/verbal section on both the SAT and the GRE:
- 800/800 on the SAT
- 170/170 on the GRE.

I have a Bachelor’s in Finance and Psychology from Northeastern University and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science from NYU, with a 4.0...

I have a Bachelor’s in Finance and Psychology from Northeastern University and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science from NYU, with a 4.0 GPA.

Teaching style: I try to focus on frameworks and strategies that will help students long term, and put those tools into practice with the example questions we look at. Some students put in hours of work taking practice tests, but without analyzing and categorizing the types of questions you get wrong, it’s tough to improve. Typically, if you are a new student, then I will ask to see your recent practice tests so that I can look for patterns and help you address recurrent misunderstandings. I also have a list of general test-taking tips and tricks that I share with all students.

Student types: I have worked with students of all ages:
- Middle schoolers taking the HSPT
- High schoolers taking the SAT and ACT
- Adult students taking the GRE, TOEFL, etc

I have worked with students at various ability-levels. I have helped students achieve perfect scores, but I’ve also helped students accomplish huge improvement, no matter their starting point, including those who are learning English as a new language (extensive experience with those coming from a Chinese or Spanish-speaking background). Due to my diverse educational background (business, psychology, computer science, music), I connect well with a variety of students, no matter their interests.

I tailor my advice to each student’s needs, but all my students have seen significant improvement!

College Counseling

I've worked as a college admissions counselor and essay editor since 2018. I help students choose a good mix of schools to apply to, and strategize with students to tell their story in a compelling way throughout the application to help them get accepted. I've edited application essays and coached students to achieve admission into top tier institutions (Stanford, Harvard, Yale, MIT, UC Berkeley, CMU, Caltech, etc) as well reach schools for their profile.
