Hi! I'm Sarah! I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Professional Writing, with an emphasis in Multimedia Communication. Growing up, I loved to learn about people and cultures around the world, and I continue to expand my knowledge. My professors made my classes so enjoyable that I continue to be inspired to be a great tutor, educator, and teacher for others. I love to help other people and impart my knowledge onto other people. I use my own lesson plans as well as work off any material that the students may already have. I love to go above and beyond and go the extra mile to help other people and make sure that they are successful in their goals and dreams. I always make sure that students understand the lesson/material first before moving on to the next lesson plan.

I have a year experience Substitute Teaching and being a tutor for everyone, grades K-12 and have extensive knowledge in other subjects like Anthropology, French, English, and Math. Additionally, as a Preschool Assistant Teacher, I'm used to teaching many different classes in one day, so I'm very adaptable and incorporate different teaching approaches to meet the students needs. I like to have a more hands-on, individual approach with the students. I like to push the students to their best potential by challenging them and encouraging them to be open-minded and think outside the box with various learning strategies. I adapt to any student needs and have experience working with neurodivergent students. I work with students one-on-one, but am also open to working in group settings.

I'm a big communicator and take the constructive feedback and apply it to better improve the student's learning experience. I use a variety of resources and continue to explore additional learning material to incorporate. If you have any questions or would like a consultation or inquiring, please don't hesitate to contact me and I look forward to hearing from you!

My child actually looks forward to their sessions—which says a lot! Sarah has a real gift for breaking down reading and writing concepts in ways that are both clear and engaging. What I appreciate most is how patient and thoughtful Sarah is, always tailoring lessons to fit my child’s interests and learning pace.
