Ph.D. Physics Grad for Math & Physics Tutoring

Hello students!

I am a tutor specializing in both Math and Physics. I have a Bachelors, Masters and PhD in Physics. I have loved teaching since I was a kid (completely true - ask my mom) :)

While at U.C. Santa Barbara as an undergraduate, I was given the chance to be TA in a freshman physics class and to teach as a guest lecturer for one class on classical mechanics. In my Masters program at San Diego State, I was a TA and taught a lab class on the physics of sound. In my Ph.D. program at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (U.C. Davis), I was a grader for first year classes (electromagnetism, math methods, etc.).

In addition to teaching physics at the college level, I have also taught as a volunteer guest lecturer in music at the middle school level. I also taught as a volunteer community teacher at Stanford during their "Splash" weekends years ago doing analysis of Beethoven's 5th and 6th symphonies as well as Hector Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique.

Regarding my approach to tutoring, I recognize there are a variety of objectives that the student could have ranging from very specific and targeted learning (e.g. AP test prep) to broader and more foundational learning to help the student get an intuitive grasp of the subject matter. I try to focus my tutoring approach to best match the student's objective.

Regarding venues, I am very flexible and I want to make the student feel as comfortable as possible. Because of that, I am open to whatever setting the student is most comfortable with (home, library, etc.).

I am available for tutoring in math and physics at the middle school, high school and college level. I hope I can assist you on your educational journey!
