I am a licensed psychologist and experienced tutor with a passion for helping students succeed academically and personally. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California and a Master’s in School Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Over the past 10+ years, I have provided tutoring and academic support to students from elementary to high school, helping them develop not just knowledge, but confidence and lifelong learning skills.
I have extensive experience in psychology, health and nutrition, different levels of math, and chess. Additionally, I spent 5 years supporting after-school math and chess clubs, blending strategy and critical thinking into my lessons.
As for my teaching approach, I like to leverage my background in psychology and tailor my support to each student’s unique learning style and needs. I help students overcome challenges and build resilience, as well as teach planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. I encourage students to reflect on how they learn best and apply those strategies across subjects. Each session is designed to empower students to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
