How's it going?
My name is Justin and I have been a history teacher for nearly 10 years and I absolutely love it. Not only am I a history teacher and tutor, but I am also a history buff. I knew that from the time that I was in elementary school that I was going to do something with history as a career....and I have. I received my BA in History from UC Santa Barbara and then continued my education at Pepperdine where I received my MA in Education, and I have been teaching ever since.
I have taught nearly every course available in the history curriculum of a high school (that includes various levels of Advanced Placement, Honors and "college prep"). As I am both a teacher and a tutor, I have, and use, the textbooks and materials from my classes in my sessions. Like my teaching, I like to vary my tutoring styles so that my students can learn the information in a way that will best help them retain the information and succeed in their classes.
Besides history, I am also available to tutor some English and grammar and proofreading. I also like to help my students organize and be prepared for class on a daily basis.
Nice to meet you all. How's it going?

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
