Are you looking for a Japanese tutor who can help you build a strong foundation while also learning how Japanese is used naturally in real life?
I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, growing up with standard Japanese, and I have been living in Los Angeles since 2017. I hold a degree in Literature from Waseda University and studied music at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Since 2020, I have taught Japanese to students in the United States and Canada, with over 4,000 hours of teaching experience.
I work with students of all ages—from elementary school students to adults—and from beginner to advanced levels. My lessons are well-structured, clear, and tailored to each student’s goals, whether that is conversation, travel, academic study, or cultural understanding.
I can help you with:
Grammar and sentence structure, including particles such as は (wa) and が (ga)
Speaking and listening skills for everyday communication
Reading and writing, including kanji support
Travel and practical Japanese
Japanese through culture, including film, music, and everyday life
I listen carefully to each student and adjust my teaching style to match their learning pace and preferences. I also have experience teaching students with autism or ADHD and approach these lessons with patience and flexibility.
In addition to teaching Japanese, I also teach guitar and compose music for films. This background helps me explain rhythm, timing, and natural flow in spoken Japanese.
Some of my students work in creative and professional fields such as entertainment, music, and film, while others study Japanese for school, travel, or personal interest.
Lessons are conducted online via Zoom. I offer a FREE 30-minute trial lesson so you can discuss your goals and experience my teaching style before committing.
Please feel free to message me with any questions. I look forward to supporting your Japanese learning journey.
