Physiology

After returning to grad school to pursue a Master’s in Exercise Science, I was really struggling with Exercise Physiology, especially since it had been a few years since I’d been in school. Despite having taken the NASM, I felt completely lost when facing my first exam. Muriel came in at the last minute and helped me organize the material, breaking it down in such a way that made the information surprisingly easy to remember. I was amazed at how much I could recall and understand during just one session. Due to her expertise and teaching style, I decided to continue working with her for the rest of the semester. Muriel is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Physiology. She is patient, encouraging, pushes me, explains things clearly, sometimes with humor and connects them to real-life examples that make the material easier to understand and most importantly retain. What I appreciated most was how she customized quizzes and exams based on areas I needed to improve, constantly tailoring lessons to match my learning style. She created a progression of questions, starting with multiple-choice warm-ups and building up to short-answer questions, which helped me build confidence and deepen my understanding without feeling overwhelmed. Muriel also made the concepts relatable by applying them to my work and personal life, which made it much easier to retain the information. Overall, she was very helpful, quite excited about Physiology, explained things clearly, and made the class much easier to tackle while giving me the confidence to prepare for multiple exams throughout the semester. I’m looking forward to working with her more in the future!

Nutrition

Muriel has been a major help to me improving my writing and thinking skills. I was struggling with the first assignment in my Nutritional Assessment 2 class, and she walked me through how to structure the assignment. But then she took the extra step. Instead of just helping me structure the paper, she gave me additional knowledge on what information to my assignment that will help later in my nutritional career. I ended up getting an A on the assignment. The exercise snacks, the food snacks and the funny snacks are activities we engage in to give our brains and bodies a pause from intaking information and focus on mental, physical and spiritual health. The last 6 weeks that I have been working with Muriel have been fulfilling and life changing. She inspired me to improve my teaching, clinical and critical thinking skills as a future nutritionist. Muriel doesn't stop there, she also allows students to keep in touch with her for educational purposes and seeking advice on how to improve your diet, metabolic sufficiency and neurological function. You think you've been pushed to the limit, Muriel has something for you. But in all honesty she has transformed my life in ways I can't explain. Muriel cares for the academic and learning improvement of students and is willing to go the extra mile to help!!! Kudos to Muriel!!!

Amazing Tutor. The best I've consulted. I feel menopause ready!

I'm quite health conscious and knowledgeable re health and nutrition and I try to live a healthy lifestyle. However, as I approach perimenopause/menopause I have been experiencing changes in my body and wondered if my diet could help stave off some of the negative side effects I've read about. So I set out to find a credible tutor with expertise in Physiology and Nutrition. I asked a few questions and quickly recognized her expertise and so I set up an appointment. But it was during our session that I really learned how effective and excellent she is. Beyond her obvious passion for Physiology and Nutrition, and her insights on their impact on potential changes, she quickly pinpointed my deeper areas of concern while also urging grace and kindness as part of my approach. I'm so glad I found and tried Muriel because I needed dependable actionable information, and she delivered. She was extremely knowledgeable regarding what was going on with my body and exactly how diet and other lifestyle changes could help. We went over my current diet to review/add/subtract and tweak as necessary. We had a great rapport from the start which is always a plus, and she was very patient and relatable. I also appreciate her nuanced approach. After our session Muriel sent me our agreed action plan for the changes in my diet/ lifestyle and lots of helpful information. I now feel better equipped and ready to face my upcoming life changes. I believe I might actually not suffer the worse symptoms if I stay on track. I will definitely be booking more sessions with Muriel for follow ups and to help me stay on track. Absolutely worth it.

Transformative Consultation on Building Lasting Healthy Habits!

I had a truly enlightening session with Muriel, which has already significantly shifted my approach to health. After doing an initial assessment on my current lifestyle and health goals, she offered several helpful recommendations. She began by emphasizing how important it is to align my daily choices with my health goals, reminding me that prioritizing my well-being and body should be treated with the same love and dedication as caring for someone l cherish. This change in perspective has transformed how I pursue my objectives in that whenever I feel the urge to let myself down, I now view it as if I’m disappointing someone important to me, which has been a powerful form of motivation. Muriel also guided me on developing habits that are simple yet impactful. Her take on nutrition is all about finding balance rather than striving for perfection. She advised a formula around eating tailored to me and my current goals. It’s so straightforward but incredibly effective and has removed the pressure of precise portion control. When it came to exercise, she made it feel accessible! This was especially important for me as l am very sedentary. She showed me that even small, consistent efforts can create significant progress and her main message was to honor my promise to myself daily, whether it’s through a quick workout or some time in the sauna. She even shared thoughtful ideas on enhancing the fitness experiences while also suggesting tips for the sauna like taking a book and staying hydrated with a stainless steel water bottle. Muriel’s holistic method goes beyond just food and fitness. For me, it’s about crafting a personalized and nurturing environment, emphasizing long-term sustainability, and understanding that this is a lifestyle shift, not a quick fix. Her suggestions to make small adjustments to my routine and continually hydrate have already noticeably boosted my energy. All in all, my meeting with Muriel has paved the way for lasting success, and I’m eager to see the ongoing effects of these small yet significant changes in my life. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a genuine, compassionate, and extremely practical approach to enhancing their health!
