Greetings! I’m R. Patrick Withee and I’ve recently graduated from Sacramento State with a B. A. in Philosophy with an emphasis on Logic and the Philosophy of Science.
My main focus is on late 19th-20th Century British/American Epistemology (study of knowledge), Logic, Philosophy of Science, and Metaphysics/Foundations of Philosophy. I also have competence in Ancient Greek Philosophy, specifically Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates.
I have taken two undergraduate level Logic courses covering the following topics: Propositional Logic, Predicate/First Order Logic, Modal Logic, some Set Theory, some Probability Theory, Syntax/Semantics, Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorems, and Russell’s Paradox.
I am currently working on developing an Logic based on extension of Probability Theory, but need a Graduate course in Meta-Logic to complete it.
I have a broad general philosophy education including Philosophy of Religion, Political Philosophy, contemporary British/American Ethics, Metaphysics, Ethics and Social Issues, and others.
