Then, I owned a licensed childcare business which included tutoring school-age students (K-6th grade) - for almost 5 years. Recently, I have worked as a substitute teacher for multiple school districts, various grades (k-12). I love facilitating the learning process. overcoming challenges/barriers and helping them to boost their confidence to thrive!

I am a 3rd generation educator. I place a very high value on providing quality education and being positive in the lives of the students and families that I work with. English is my favorite subject. I welcome the opportunity to work with parents so that my time with students is specifically geared to their educational needs. I also enjoy several hobbies (like cooking and photography). I am happy to share that with you as well. I look forward to answering any questions that you may have. I am easy to reach and will respond quickly. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Feel free to send me questions or schedule a lesson.

I understand the value of healthy meals and how proper nutrition benefits us in so many ways - energy, strength, endurance, focus, quality of sleep, mood, proper development and growth, etc.

I LOVE the English language - spelling, grammar, punctuation, definition, diversity of meanings, opportunity for creative thought as a means of expression, and, its many forms (written word, reading, music, song, poetry, etc). It's all so very interesting and relevant to me and in our world. It is fascinating to me and I truly enjoy helping others to understand it better and learn to appreciate it. Hopefully, after working with me, they will learn to enjoy it as much as I do.

I look forward to hearing from you so we can share the joys of learning together. I would be happy to know more about both your needs and your interests. I would be happy to answer any questions that

Theater

I have been involved in theater from a very early age and, as a student in High School, studied Theater under the direction of Rawley T. Farnsworth who has taught many students who have gone on to have successful careers in both live theater, motion pictures (as well as in other venues such as radio and public broadcasting). I feel this has given me a strong basis for nurturing and teaching students who have an interest in theater and/or dramatic arts. While in college, continued my studies in acting and theater, being cast in several plays both on campus and in community theater. As a substitute teacher, I have worked with high school students in theater, helping them to gain confidence on stage as well as improve their public speaking ability. I feel confident in my ability to teach and guide students in this subject matter.

Knowledgable and patient tutor, highly recommend.

Heather is a fully certified full time teacher in a local school district as well as a private tutor. With her advanced studies in early childhood development and child psychology she is ideally suited for helping our daughter in a 1 on 1 setting, providing that individualized help that is just not possible in a class of 20-30 students. She has worked with our daughter while being in contact with our daughter's regular school teacher to help her in focused way that compliment the actual school curriculum.

Knowledgeable and patient.

I absolutely loved how patient she was with my daughter. I could tell she's passionate about teaching children. I also loved the detailed report she gave me after the session. She's an amazing tutor.

Well-Prepares!

Heather called me in advance of the session and asked pinpointed questions to align on expectations for the session. She had lessons for both of the kids, and kept our young we child engaged while she worked with the older. Thank you!
