I am currently a student at the University of the Pacific, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences on an accelerated pre-dental track, with a cumulative GPA of 3.84. My academic background includes extensive coursework in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology, which has given me a strong foundation in problem-solving and analytical thinking. I currently serve as a Chemistry Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader at my university, where I support college students in mastering complex concepts through guided practice, clear explanations, and strategy-based learning. This role has strengthened my ability to break down challenging material into manageable steps and to adapt explanations to different learning styles.
In addition to my work with college students, I have experience tutoring younger learners through community-based programs. As a College Corps volunteer, I worked with elementary school students in grades one through six, providing academic support in math and English in both one-on-one and small-group settings. I also assisted with structured physical education and classroom activities, which required patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills. These experiences helped me learn how to adjust my teaching approach based on students’ age, confidence level, and individual needs.
My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand not only how to solve problems, but why specific methods work. For SAT Math in particular, I emphasize foundational concept mastery, common question patterns, and strategies to reduce careless errors and manage time effectively. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gradually build confidence in their abilities. Through my combined experience as an SI leader, tutor, and volunteer educator, I am well prepared to provide effective and personalized SAT Math instruction.
