Bio

I’m a graduate from UC Berkeley with a degree in Chemical Engineering. When I was in highschool, I received 800s on both Math SAT I and II. I’ve also got a 5 on my AP Chemistry and Calculus BC tests. I have experience tutoring everything from Algebra to Calculus. I’ve also tutored chemistry and physics at the high school and college level.

I have experience tutoring everything from Algebra to Calculus. I’ve also tutored chemistry and physics at the high school and college level.

As a tutor, I am flexible to the needs of the students. One of my strengths has been to customize my teaching to the individual student’s strengths, needs, and goals. Sometimes you might have a test or final coming soon, so I want to help you learn as much information as quickly as possible to prepare. I want to prepare you to score higher on your tests and finish your assignments. However, sometimes people need to be grounded and really learn the information. For example, I’ve had students really struggle with Precalculus, and it’s because Algebra II never clicked for them. If the student barely squeezes through Precalculus, then Calculus is going to be a nightmare. Therefore, I want to ensure that you really learn the material. I hope to make learning fun when needed, but also be able to get serious when deadlines are coming up.

I also have real world experience working in engineering and chemistry, which helps contextualize the lessons and makes the topics more engaging.

I received my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley. While a student I did research on water purification techniques, mostly focused on different coagulating agents. I've also worked in the field for 7 years.

Jun laid out a plan with me before starting the tutoring session. He answered my questions about the process of tutoring and designed action plans to help my kid. Jun worked well with my kid on reviewing the topics that need help most. My kid would like to keep on learning from him until the AP test. Very happy!

He displayed great mastery of the subject, came well prepared for the session and is intutively able to discern quickly why the student is struggling with certain problems or concepts.He has a brisk no nonsense manner about him and dont waste no time while still be able to put the student at ease and foster confidence .Having tried mutiple tutors on various platforms jun is by far the best tutor we have found.Only regret being finding him some what late. I have no doubt that once a student finds him they will stick with him and I wish him success which he rightly deserves.

Jun Sun easily and quickly figured out what my son was missing in his Algebra foundation. He reviewed an exam with him, homework, and offered suggestions for improvement, such as slowing down and doing "gut" checks with work to review for reasonableness. Very grateful we found Jun Sun and are continuing with a regular tutoring schedule. My son's frustration has been reduced tremendously. 5* tutor!
