When I taught choir my students made it to the finals to be in the festival at the end of the school year my second year. I still have the materials I used when I was a Choir Director.
My training is as follows, I took Vocal and Instrumental Conducting at Cal State East Bay. My instructor was Dr. Wesley Broadnax. I took private lessons in Sight-Singing from the then teacher at Laney College. The curriculum was the same as the college but she worked with me one on one. I received both a Supplemental Authorization to teach Music and a Minor in Music.
The choir I was asked to start won an award in a relatively short period of time. I have been a songwriter where I have used my knowledge of writing scores to arrange vocal parts for other singers. I believe in continuing to improve skills.
I am very understanding and I have 20 years of teaching experience.
