Experienced Tutor with Expertise in College and AP Statistics + Math

Hi, I'm Nick! I am a patient, passionate tutor of math and stats with experience in teaching a wide array of topics, including, but not limited to, AP Stats, AP Calculus, and SAT/GRE math prep. I have an M.S. in Statistics and B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA and I have tutored independently, as a university teaching assistant (TA), and most recently, served as an instructor/tutor for an educational company for the past 2+ years.

I know firsthand the pain of doing difficult math problems as a former struggling and unmotivated student. That's why I believe in giving an intuitive understanding of the ideas beneath each problem rather than just churning out exercises without considering what's going on under the hood. In my experience, this leads to a better, more generalizable ability to do well in math, rather than just being able to "brute force" your way to solve some problems with no idea what the point of it all is or why anything worked the way it worked. I also believe in simply making things more approachable and adapting the way I explain things based on the student's needs and understanding.

I want to benefit those I teach as much as possible, so I welcome any feedback or requests from the students (or parents) so we can see constant improvement together.
