Tired of not understanding what’s going on in your math and science classes? Want to understand the material better before your final? Need to prepare for the SAT, ACT, GRE, or MCAT? I can help you! I graduated with a B.S. in Bioengineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and am currently earning my PhD degree from Stanford University.

I have more than 8 years of experience teaching hundreds of students at all levels (including elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and graduate school). I know the common mistakes and frustrations that students face, and more importantly I can get you results! My approach to teaching focuses on building a deeper, longer-lasting understanding of the material rather than memorizing formulas that will be forgotten as soon as the class is over. This has helped my students avoid unnecessary confusion and ultimately improve their grades and test scores. I have even received prestigious teaching awards for applying these unique teaching methods in college-level engineering courses.

I offer free consultations so we can discuss your academic strengths, needs, and learning style and figure out whether I would be a good fit for you. From there, we will develop a personalized teaching plan to fit your needs, which includes choosing a convenient time and location for tutoring sessions, whether that’s at your home, school, or a local library. Please contact me if you would like to learn more and schedule a consultation. I look forward to meeting with you!

I received my B.S. from Caltech, and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford. I have gone through two rounds of successful university applications myself, and I was admitted to multiple top-ranking universities (including Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Caltech, University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins). Applying what I have learned from my personal experiences, I have helped many students succeed in high school and stand out during college admissions. I am available to help students at any part of the process, from developing a list of colleges based on their academic and personal interests to crafting biographical essays. I look forward to working with you to help showcase your unique personal and academic strengths in your college applications!

I have two years of experience working specifically with K-6th graders. I have expertise in diverse subjects including math, science, writing, reading, and social studies. My goal is to inspire young students to embrace learning, form a solid foundation of literacy and numeracy skills, and develop strong organization and time management habits. I love working with K-6th graders and cultivating a positive and productive learning environment. I use a combination of visual, audio, and kinesthetic teaching techniques depending on the learning style of each individual student. It would be a pleasure to work with your K-6th grader and help them achieve success in elementary school and beyond!

Knowledgable, positive and fun

I asked Beatriz to help me review the learning objectives listed in the syllabus for my upcoming classes. Beatriz was able to use her in depth understanding of each topic to guide me through every learning objective efficiently while maintaining a positive and fun learning atmosphere. I look forward to each session with Beatriz, and left each session feeling positive and confident about how much I had learned. Beatriz really helped me get excited to learn about each topic we covered! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an incredibly knowledgable tutor to break down any topic they may be struggling with!

Great tutor

In just a few meetings Beatriz has had a very positive impact on my son’s understanding of mathematical concepts and on his confidence in tackling more complex problems. She is also providing very helpful guidance on study skills for math which can also be translated to other subjects. Overall, we are very pleased with Beatriz and recommend her very highly.

Knowledge, Energy and Passion

Beatriz was an absolute gem while we worked to set up our first lesson. Her communication and response times were flawless. Our daughter instantly felt comfortable and that Beatriz clearly knew the material. Her energy and passion for Chemistry clearly showed and when she left our daughter already felt she was gaining a better grasp on the material. Beatriz would be an exceptional tutor for all.

Very methodical, knowledgeable, patient and dilligent tutor

Our two boys - a high-school freshman & an elementary kid, needed help across board in all subjects and also with study habits & time management. Beatriz took this head on and she brought in a noticeable change in around two weeks. Other than advancing on their academics, they seem to have picked up habits to produce quality work. Evidently she is a top notch in terms of knowledge but also very patient & friendly. Kids are quite receptive to her teaching. I would totally recommend her.

Very knowledgeable and well prepared

My son has had two sessions with Beatriz thus far and I can’t say enough great things about her. She’s very flexible with her schedule and always accommodating. My son is in chemistry honors and has been struggling since the beginning of the school year. Since he’s met with Beatriz he has said that she has helped him tremendously. His friends and classmates now go to him for help! This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to see his grade improve. My son looks forward to his sessions and is excited at the end of each session with what he’s learned. I’m so thankful and grateful for all of Beatriz’s help. She prepares ahead of their sessions and even sends my son work after their session to help him better gage what they just learned. I look forward to continuing to use Beatriz for the rest of the school year.
