Hi, I'm Sareena! I became a college admissions counselor, ACT tutor, and science tutor because I understand how overwhelming college admissions can be, especially for students who feel they lack mentorship, resources, and support. Tackling rigorous coursework, standardized testing, and the writing process has reinforced the belief I bring to tutoring: learning is most enjoyable when students drive it, and personalized around each student's unique learning goals.

As a student at Stanford University studying Human Biology and Education, my academic background spans biology, chemistry (general, organic, and biochemistry), psychology, writing, public health, and education. I have 8+ years of tutoring experience, including working with students individually and in small-group settings. I love working with students at all stages, from essay brainstorming or course content review to refining statements or supporting high standardized test scorers aiming for elite results.

As a tutor, I bring a commitment to meeting you wherever you are to help you achieve the specific goals you aspire to. My tutoring style is warm, patient, and highly individualized, with an emphasis on helping students become more confident, independent learners.

Applying to college, I was privileged to earn admission (and several academic scholarships) to schools such as Stanford, Harvard, Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, WashU, and other selective institutions. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy the outdoors, reading, and spending time with loved ones.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, tired, or unsure in your academic journey, I would love to hear from you and help build an individualized plan for progress.

ACT Math

Hi, I'm Sareena! I am a senior at Stanford University studying Human Biology. I became an ACT tutor because I understand how stressful and overwhelming standardized testing can be, especially for students who feel they lack scaffolding or built-in support. As someone who navigated the ACT largely on my own, I am committed to helping students build customized plans for measurable progress after taking the time to understand their individual learning strategies and areas for growth. I enjoy supporting students through all phases of ACT preparation, from content review to helping students achieve elite scores. For the Math section, I focus on helping students identify the specific concepts and question types that are costing them points, then building targeted strategies to address those gaps. Every student has different needs: strengthening foundational algebra or geometry, recognizing common ACT question patterns, translating word problems into equations, optimizing calculator use efficiently, or improving pacing across the section (especially at the end of the Math section!). I also emphasize understanding why a solution works rather than simply memorizing formulas, so students can adapt when familiar concepts appear in unfamiliar forms. My goal is to make ACT Math feel more predictable and manageable by giving students a strong conceptual foundation and a repeatable process for approaching even the most challenging questions. I received a 35 overall on the ACT, with a 35 in English, 36 in Reading, 36 in Math, and 34 in Science.

ACT Reading

Hi, I'm Sareena! I am a senior at Stanford University studying Human Biology. I became an ACT tutor because I understand how stressful and overwhelming standardized testing can be, especially for students who feel they lack scaffolding or built-in support. As someone who navigated the ACT largely on my own, I am committed to helping students build customized plans for measurable progress after taking the time to understand their individual learning strategies and areas for growth. I enjoy supporting students through all phases of ACT preparation, from content review to helping students achieve elite scores. For the Reading section, I focus on helping students understand exactly where and why they are getting stuck and building targeted strategies. Every student has different needs: breaking down confusing passages, identifying what different question stems are really asking, finding passage evidence efficiently rather than relying on intuition alone, or mastering the timing of this fast-paced section. My goal is to make Reading feel less subjective and more systematic, giving students a repeatable approach they can use confidently on test day. I received a 35 overall on the ACT, with a 35 in English, 36 in Reading, 36 in Math, and 34 in Science.
