Hi! My name is Eric, and I specialize in tutoring physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and mathematics at the high school, college, and test-prep levels.

I hold honors degrees in Physics and Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, and I’m currently pursuing graduate study in science education at Stanford University. Over the past 7 years, I’ve worked extensively as a tutor, teaching assistant, and curriculum designer. I’ve supported students in more than 18 math and science courses, ranging from introductory calculus and chemistry to advanced university-level physics, chemistry, and biochemistry.

In addition to my subject tutoring, I have significant experience with MCAT preparation, particularly in the Chemistry/Physics and Biology/Biochemistry sections. By focusing on strategy, problem solving, and conceptual mastery, my students consistently see strong score improvements, with several raising their science subsection scores by 4 points or more.

My teaching philosophy is simple: learning should be clear, engaging, and empowering. I focus on breaking down complex topics into understandable steps, building on students’ prior knowledge, and connecting science to real-world contexts that make the material “stick.” My goal is not only to help students excel in their coursework or exams, but also to develop the problem-solving skills and confidence that last far beyond our sessions.

Whether you’re preparing for an exam, tackling a challenging course, or building long-term mastery, I adapt my approach to your needs. I’d be excited to support you in reaching your goals.

Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a lesson — I look forward to working with you!

Approved Subjects

Biology

Biology

I hold a BSA in Biochemistry from UT Austin and am currently earning my credential in teaching biology and chemistry at Stanford. I have previously earned high marks in my biology classes, including microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology to name a few. In college, I have also served as a teaching assistant for upper-level biology and biochemistry courses.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I hold a BSA in Biochemistry from UT Austin and am currently earning my credential in teaching chemistry at Stanford. I have previously been a teaching assistant for biochemistry and organic chemistry and have tutored numerous students on AP Chemistry, introductory chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. I have received high marks in all of my chemistry classes and bring a principles-forward approach to learning and teaching chemistry.
MCAT

MCAT

I have 7+ years tutoring and teaching biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and physics and previously helped other students increase their scores in the science sections, some by more than 4 points per section. Personally, I have scored 90th+ percentile in the chemistry/physics, biology/biochemistry, and the psychological sciences sections. My personal experience with the MCAT has provided me structured ways to tackle passage-based science questions that appear on the MCAT and help others develop strategies that are directly applicable to test day.
Physics

Physics

I hold a BSA in Physics from UT Austin and I currently study science education at Stanford, where I am concentrating in physics education. I have helped develop curriculum for the physics for life sciences course sequence in college and have served as a tutor for all levels of introductory physics, upper-level mechanics and electromagnetism, as well as thermal physics.
