Hi! My name is Dante, and I’m a rising junior at Stanford University majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in AI. I’m passionate about helping students succeed in both Math and Computer Science.
From July to December 2022, I worked as a Mathnasium tutor in Austin, Texas, supporting students from grades K–12 in subjects up to BC Calculus. I also served as a math peer tutor in high school, where, during my junior year, I spent 40 hours after school helping classmates in Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and more. These experiences taught me how to adapt my approach to different learning styles, whether in one-on-one sessions or small groups.
I am comfortable teaching Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Python, and I have studied introductory AI concepts through Stanford’s CS 231n: Deep Learning for Computer Vision. I also scored a 1540 on the SAT (800 Math, 740 Reading/Writing), which I earned through consistent practice and full-length timed tests. I can guide students on how to avoid careless mistakes, recognize patterns, and manage time effectively. In addition to math and test prep, I help students with essay writing, including college application essays, by focusing on clarity, structure, and authentic storytelling.
My tutoring style is patient, personalized, and focused on building true understanding. I encourage students to ask questions, think step-by-step, and gain confidence in their own problem-solving abilities. As a native Spanish speaker, I can also provide bilingual support when helpful. Outside academics, I am a musician with experience in jazz piano, voice, Latin percussion, and music theory. Music has taught me discipline, creativity, and persistence, and these are qualities that I bring into tutoring as well. I look forward to working with you!

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I am a Stanford Computer Science undergraduate with experience tutoring Algebra 1 at Mathnasium and as a high school peer tutor. I have guided students through equations, inequalities, functions, graphing, and more, adapting my method of explanation to each student's learning style. I approach this subject by building strong intuition and fundamentals in my students, while making sure they gain the skills and confidence to approach problem-solving independently. I seek to make algebra enjoyable, helping students to succeed on their assignments, quizzes, and tests.
Piano

Piano

I started classical piano at age 10 and, within one month, was playing Mozart’s Rondo Alla Turca. Within nine months, I was performing advanced pieces like Schubert’s Ständchen (arranged by Liszt). In 2019, I received a full scholarship to the Berklee College of Music Five-Week Intensive and was selected for the Jazz All-Stars program. In 2022, I earned a 5 on AP Music Theory. Today, I focus on jazz and salsa piano, voice, and Latin percussion, and I have perfect pitch to help with ear training and improvisation. I aim to help students build technique, musicality, and confidence, drawing on my classical training and extensive performance experience, including private jazz piano study with Stanford professor Murray Low and performing with the Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble.
Python

Python

I have strong intuitive Python programming skills, which I have developed through Stanford's coursework and hands-on projects, including assignments in algorithms, data structures, and deep learning (AI). I am comfortable in guiding students through Python fundamentals, helping them understand programming concepts, write functional and clean code, and develop solutions to problems effectively. My approach emphasizes building intuition, strengthening fundamentals, and working through problems with step-by-step explanations, and increasing confidence for students new to programming. I desire to make Python more approachable and fun while making sure my students have the tools to succeed in coursework and personal projects.
Spanish

Spanish

I am a native Ecuadorian-American Spanish speaker with fluency in reading, writing, and conversation. As a Stanford Computer Science undergraduate, I bring discipline, structure, and problem-solving skills to my tutoring. I help students of all levels build confidence and proficiency in Spanish, covering grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills. My approach is personalized and engaging, aiming to make Spanish both fun and practical for real-world communication.
