I’m a Stanford graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Engineering as well. With over six years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students aged 10 to 18 across a wide range of subjects—including math (from foundational algebra to advanced calculus), history, writing, science, and study skills like organization and time management.

My tutoring experience includes both one-on-one sessions and small group settings, working with students in private, volunteer, and academic environments. I focus on building confidence, critical thinking, and long-term retention by tailoring each session to the student’s individual learning style and needs. Whether it’s helping a middle schooler stay on top of their assignments or preparing a high school senior for AP exams, my goal is to make learning engaging, approachable, and effective.

Academically, I graduated high school with a perfect GPA and maintained a strong academic record throughout college. My engineering background gives me a solid foundation in problem-solving and analytical thinking, which I integrate into all areas of my tutoring. I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential, not just through subject mastery, but by helping them develop the tools and mindset needed for long-term academic success!

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

I have over six years of experience working with students of different learning styles, including students with ADHD and other learning differences. At Stanford, I also took coursework focused on teaching students with learning disabilities, with particular emphasis on ADHD and non-verbal learning challenges. My tutoring approach emphasizes structure, patience, engagement, and individualized learning strategies to help students stay focused, organized, and confident. I work closely with students to build both academic skills and long-term habits like time management, self-monitoring, and independent problem-solving in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering

I have extensive experience tutoring engineering, math, and physics students, with a strong foundation in topics that overlap closely with civil engineering, including statics, mechanics of materials, structural analysis, dynamics, calculus, differential equations, and physics. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford and am currently finishing my Master’s in Civil Engineering at Stanford, where I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills applicable to engineering coursework. I enjoy helping students understand both the theory and real-world intuition behind engineering concepts, whether working through structural forces, stress/strain problems, fluid systems, or quantitative analysis. My tutoring style is highly personalized and focused on building confidence, conceptual understanding, and strong problem-solving habits for long-term success.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I spent months writing application essays for dozens of universities across the country, so I’m very familiar with the writing and revision process. With acceptances to Stanford, Princeton, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Rice, Carnegie Mellon, and more, I now love helping other students get into the schools of their dreams. The application process can feel overwhelming, but let's work together to make your essays as strong as possible!
Earth Science

Earth Science

I have a strong interdisciplinary background in Earth systems, sustainability, and environmental science through my Stanford coursework and research experience. My work has covered climate and energy systems, renewable energy technologies, environmental policy, systems thinking, and the relationships between human activity and natural systems. I have also worked on sustainability-focused projects involving clean energy adoption, solar technology, and systems mapping, which helps me explain complex environmental topics in a clear and practical way. As a tutor, I focus on helping students build both conceptual understanding and strong analytical skills so they can connect scientific ideas to real-world environmental challenges.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford and am currently finishing my Master’s in Engineering at Stanford, with extensive coursework spanning mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, controls, circuits, manufacturing, and engineering design. Beyond academics, I have hands-on industry and project experience through engineering design teams and internships, including mechanical systems design, robotics hardware, power electronics packaging, and prototyping. I enjoy helping students not only solve engineering problems, but also build strong intuition for underlying concepts, problem-solving frameworks, and technical communication. My tutoring style emphasizes breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps while helping students gain confidence in applying engineering principles to real-world problems.
Robotics

Robotics

I have extensive experience in robotics through both academic and hands-on engineering work, including designing mechanical systems, developing robotic hardware, and improving system reliability in real-world applications. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford and am currently finishing my Master’s in Engineering at Stanford, where I’ve applied concepts from mechanics, controls, sensors, electronics, CAD, and system integration. I enjoy helping students understand robotics from both a theoretical and practical perspective—whether that’s kinematics, actuators, programming logic, hardware design, prototyping, or competition/project work. My tutoring style is highly interactive and focused on building intuition, problem-solving skills, and confidence through real-world examples and hands-on thinking.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I have a strong background in thermodynamics through my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford and my current Master’s in Engineering at Stanford, where I completed advanced engineering coursework involving heat transfer, energy systems, fluid mechanics, and thermal sciences. I have experience helping students understand core thermodynamics concepts including the laws of thermodynamics, energy balances, entropy, cycles, ideal gases, control volumes, and heat/work interactions. My tutoring approach focuses on building intuition for physical systems while also helping students develop strong problem-solving methods for challenging engineering equations and applications. I emphasize breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps so students can confidently approach homework, exams, and real-world engineering problems.
United States History

United States History

I have over six years of experience tutoring history students at the middle school, high school, and AP levels, including extensive work with U.S. History courses. I hold a Stanford United States History teaching certification, scored a 5/5 on the AP U.S. History exam myself, and have helped 12 students earn scores of 4 or 5 on the APUSH exam. I focus on helping students understand historical themes, causation, timelines, and document analysis rather than simply memorizing facts, which improves both retention and essay writing. I also help students strengthen DBQ/LEQ writing, note-taking, and test-taking strategies through a personalized, discussion-based approach that builds confidence and critical thinking skills.
