I'm a recent college graduate (BS in Biochemistry with Distinction and minors in Computer Science and Chemistry) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). I attended Harker in middle and high school, and I was accepted to Carnegie Mellon University for a Master's in Computational Biology. However, I decided to come back to the Bay Area to perform immunology research at Stanford, where I am now researching COVID-19. Outside of the biomedical space, I have enjoyed mentorship for young learners since I was in high school. My five years of experience working with children (ages 7-17) and my peers in a mentoring capacity as a tutor, figure skating instructor, and essay editor, have provided me with insight into the soft skills required to effectively convey subject material to students. My leadership extends beyond the classroom, as I have led hikes and taught environmental lessons to 5th-grade students as a science camp counselor, with stellar feedback on my energy, enthusiasm, and compassion from multiple teachers in charge. I was also the leader of weekly fitness workouts as part of women's fitness group CHAARG on my university campus.

I understand how stressful and isolating it can be to struggle in school. I did not reach my goals without my own struggles. My philosophy is that anyone can learn anything, and I believe that middle school/high school/ adulthood is a time to explore a multitude of academic subjects and disciplines. No subject is too lofty to excel in, and it is never too late to start. With a warm and understanding teaching style, I hope to reduce the fear that can come with approaching a subject. I will provide all my support to the student, working first to identify the areas that need more attention and then leveraging the student's existing skills and strengths to address challenges.

Ballet

Ballet

My years of ballet experience encompass dancing a solo in my company's Nutcracker (in addition to dancing 3 additional roles every year), pointework, flexibility work, and knowledge of stretching and strengthening exercises. I have a year of experience mentoring children 7-11 years old in their ballet technique. My compassionate and patient approach to teaching young students comes from having experienced and identified my own struggles and ineffective teaching styles in my past, combined with my love for working with children.
Biology

Biology

I graduated from UIUC with a BS degree in Biochemistry with Distinction. I was accepted to study Computational Biology at Carnegie Mellon in Fall 2024. I have 4 years of experience as an undergraduate researcher in a genetics lab, which has exposed me to an even wider scope of biology, beyond my classes. I love mentoring middle and high school students, and hope to share my passion for our natural world with young students.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (top 5 CS school) with a minor in Computer Science. I have two software internship experiences, one of which was in industry. I have a strong background in data science and data analysis, and I have been coding for the past 6 years. I love getting people started with Computer Science and I hope to show you that anyone can learn to code with a little patience.

Very knowledgeable and flexible tutor! Highly recommend her!

She is an absolutely great teacher. She is sweet, smart and intelligent. My son usually doesn't like to have tutor, but I am very pleased with her communication skill with preteenager. She is very flexible and easy to talk too. She knows how to handle different aspects of educating kids, how to get things done and how to communicate with the teachers to improve the grades. I am looking forward to having more lessons with her for my sons who needs constant motivation. I wish her all the best and success in her career.

Amazing and Patient Autor

Anastasiya helped me learn about molecular shape, different kinds of bonds Intermolecular and Intramolecular forces and so much more! If anyone is having trouble with chemistry Anastasiya is an excellent teacher who breaks down information in a way that anyone can understand it. She truly makes a daunting subject like chemistry so much more approachable and comprehensible.

Very knowledeable and passionate!

Anastasiya was great and what I was looking for in a science/data report tutor! She reviewed the material I sent her in advance and was prepared to show me the specific things I needed. She was also very responsive to messages after the meeting. I will for sure utilize her skills in my future data science and research endeavors!
